I worked on this short over a period of 6 months at the studio of Kyoto Animation in Japan (http://www.kyotoanimation.co.jp). I started from the script and covered all of the traditional animation process; from story boarding and layouts to key framing and in-betweening to coloring and backgrounds to compositing, sound and editing.

'A face. A face of a clown at the heart of Beirut.
The clown, my clown…
He dresses up not as a joker. Yet, he has to please.
Clowns make us laugh. Clowns, they are the epitome of tragedy.
A performer. A performer clown. A performer clown at the heart of Beirut.
This is my clown.
My performer. Who is he?
At the heart of our city.
He picks the moon from his forehead – putting the world to rest.
To rest. To dream. To wake up again.
Rest my Beirut. Rest. Tomorrow. Tomorrow will be different. Rest now. Rest…'
This is the 2010 [Second Cut] of 'Beirut, the moon has a secret'
