"A Pistol against my head" is an animated documentary film directed by Luca Schenato & Sinem Vardarli, commissioned and produced by Mosaic Films.
We have created one of the three serial short animated documentaries from "Animated Minds" series, narrated by Veterans – aimed at addressing the stereotypes, prejudice and misinformation surrounding War Trauma.

This film tells the real-life story of Hugh, an ex-army soldier and engineer, who is coping with the psychological fallout of war following tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.
We try to give a visually compelling and engaging way of understanding what it is to suffer from mental ill health - in this case, from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

On a quest to find what lies at the end of a mysterious treasure map, Sir Moros is sure to succeed. A little short made for fun! After some time to work for others, we needed to go back to one's roots : make a short film without constraint, just for pleasure!

The visual was made by Elise Garcette and Olivier Barré, the music by Pilöt... and produced by La Station Animation!

Finally! After around 5 months of work (not full time, but yeah) it's finished. This was a proyect for the end of my 3er semester in animation. Initially I was asked to make a 20 second commercial, but I wanted to make a short film in order to send it over to festivals (: It was a torture, and many times I regreted being so exigent with myself but I think it was worth it in the end.

Actually, my university helped me by having some of the profesional animators at their studio animate some of the secuences I didn't had time to make and also they where responsible of the sound production.

The short was animated directly on TVPaint, except for the scenes that where animated by the additional animators, that where on paper, and I had to scan them and clean them up. Backgrounds where made on Photshop and compositing in After Effects and Premier.
